This deal covers the no-cost TV channels along with the streaming service ITVX. But here’s the twist: the production piece, known as ITV Studios, isn’t included at all.

A partnership involving Comcast might unlock global opportunities. 

As ad income likely falls by roughly 9% this quarter, ITV’s decision comes at just the right moment. Shifting quickly away from old-school TV toward online platforms isn’t optional anymore. 

Perhaps ITV might reach worldwide audiences – though success isn’t guaranteed. A solid ally combined with sharp, fresh shows could open doors. Still, hurdles stand in the way. Oversight from British regulatory bodies casts uncertainty. Fears about shrinking market options keep coming up. Rivals already pack the international streaming space. 

So ITV can turn into a top streaming player, here’s what needs to happen: 

hold expenses steady while managing budgets carefully 

put money into popular series that go global 

then spread sales outside the UK. 

If it actually pulls this off, “global streaming” won’t stay fantasy – it’ll shift into real life. Bottom line: sure, ITV’s got potential to rise up in the streamer ranks – yet everything hinges on whether they’ve got guts, strategy, and solid allies within the coming year.
