Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso Unveiled, Signalling Brand's Future

The Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso concept car made its worldwide debut at the 2026 Paris Motor Show, serving as a “manifesto” for the brand’s future vision and a new expression of its identity. This concept is neither an anticipation of a production model nor a mere style exercise, but an authentic declaration intended to inspire future Alfa Romeo models and outline the brand’s approach to the new era of electrification, according to Media Stellantis.

Alfa Romeo Cuorerosso: Unveiling a Future Vision

The Cuorerosso reinterprets traditional Alfa Romeo hallmarks such as beauty, sportiness, Italian spirit, emotion, and driving pleasure with a contemporary flair. In this new phase, electrification is set to not only perpetuate the love for automobiles but also to amplify it through a fresh interpretation of performance, design, and engagement. Alfa Romeo, a brand of Italian sportiness since 1910, maintains that a car should evoke emotions, ignite the senses, and foster a deep bond with the driver.

Santo Ficili, Alfa Romeo and Maserati CEO, stated that the brand has always created cars capable of “arousing something within them.” He added, “With Cuorerosso, we bring this identity into the future, one open to different energy solutions, in which technology, function and quality are always at the service of emotions and driving pleasure.”

The Essence of the Cuorerosso Concept

The name “Cuorerosso” itself encapsulates its essence, combining “Heart” – a universal symbol of emotions – with “Red,” a synonym for sportiness, as detailed by Media Stellantis. The concept draws inspiration from three core elements linked to the brand’s identity: Italy, with its sartorial mastery and design tradition; sportiness, defined as a tension towards dynamism and driving pleasure; and the colour red, intrinsic to Alfa Romeo’s history as a symbol of performance and passion.

A key design philosophy expressed in the Cuorerosso is “Bellezza Necessaria” (Necessary Beauty), a term coined by Alfa Romeo. This principle eliminates the superfluous, reducing components to their essentials, with each element serving a precise function, all enhanced by top-level materials, workmanship, and finishes. This approach reflects the great Italian sculptural tradition, where beauty is seen as already existing within the material, waiting to be released. The Alfa Romeo Centro Stile developed the Cuorerosso project by sculpting a single solid block, focusing on theme, proportions, and volumes from the outset.

Cuorerosso’s Implications for Future Models

This vision for Alfa Romeo is destined to find expression in key market segments. Future models will utilise flexible, multi-energy architectures and could be up to 4.7 metres long, with the potential to accommodate Quadrifoglio versions. Regardless of the architecture or technology adopted, the brand’s aim is for every Alfa Romeo to transform movement into emotion.
